PA U.S. House District 8 issued the following announcement on Dec. 5
This year’s #PASocietyDinner Gold Medal for Distinguished Achievement went to Dr. Ala Stanford, a physician board certified in pediatric surgery. In the height of the pandemic, Dr. Stanford organized the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium, which administered 53,000 vaccinations in Philadelphia. Because of her stubborn efforts, Philadelphia has the highest percentage of vaccinated African Americans of any major city. This lady is a real inspiration.
