There was a single gas station in cities across Lackawanna County selling midgrade gas at the price of $3.95 per gallon in the week ending Mar. 30, according to GasBuddy.com.

Of the 22 gas stations in cities within Lackawanna County, just one offers midgrade gas.

The average price of midgrade gas in Pennsylvania was $3.97, compared to $3.96 the week before.

Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.

Gas data refers to the price of gas when paid for by cash, not credit. Gas stations can charge drivers more for using credit cards due to surcharge fees. This is prohibited in 10 U.S. states.

While data is accurate as of press time, note that gas prices can fluctuate daily or even hourly.
