Kenneth Lesser, a 50-year-old resident of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for attempting to entice a minor online. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Julia K. Munley.
United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam stated that between July 17 and August 3, 2023, Lesser used the internet and an electronic device to try to persuade someone he believed to be a 13-year-old child into engaging in sexual conduct and producing child pornography images. During this time, Lesser sent obscene photographs of himself on multiple occasions.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. This project involves collaboration among federal, state, and local resources to apprehend and prosecute offenders while rescuing victims.
The investigation was carried out by Homeland Security Investigations – Philadelphia Division. Assistant United States Attorney Tatum Wilson led the prosecution.
