NPH Student Recognition

Olivia Bassi is the daughter of Chris and Tara Bassi. Olivia has challenged herself academically throughout her high school career by taking accelerated level courses and will have completed 4 AP courses upon graduation. Olivia has received High Honors throughout high school, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Olivia is the Student Council Executive Treasurer as well as an officer for Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). Olivia is a member of Red Cross Club, Tobacco Resistance Unit (TRU), Buddy's Club, Mathletes and Overtime Club. Olivia is a member of the Varsity Cross Country and Track and Field teams, and serves as a captain for the Cross Country team. In addition to her school sponsored extracurricular activities, Olivia is an active member in her community. She is a volunteer for Cards that Care——a non-profit organization that sends handwritten cards to people in nursing homes and hospice centers. Olivia also works part time at Covington Fitness Center as a front desk receptionist. After graduation, Olivia plans to attend the University of Tennessee Knoxville to study nursing, and hopes to one day become a NICU nurse at a children's hospital. 

Emily Franklin is the daughter of John and Andrea Franklin. Emily received high honors throughout her high school career, and by graduation will have taken 10 AP classes. She has also been a member of the National Honor Society throughout high school. Emily is a member of the Cross Country team where she served as a captain for two years in addition to going to the PIAA State Championships for two years. She is a member of the Track & Field team, Student Council, Mini-THON Club, Red Cross Club, SADD, Prom Committee, Interact Club, and Mathletes. Emily is an active member in her community; at Moscow Elementary Center, she volunteers as a tutor for the students. She has volunteered at the North Pocono Public Library, with the Moscow Roadrunners, and with the North Pocono Dandy Lion Little League. Emily is currently employed by Van Fleets Grove. After graduation, Emily will be attending college and plans to major in Biobehavioral Health in hopes of becoming a Physician Assistant.

Isabella Keller is the daughter of Barbara and Frank Findeis. Isabella is a senior at North Pocono High School, and also attends the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County for Print Production. She also serves as a Student Ambassador for CTC. Isabella is taking advantage of any academic accomplishments received to help her prepare for the workforce. Some of these accomplishments include Forklift Certification and OSHA 10 Certification. Isabella is also a member of the National Honor Society at NPHS. Isabella is working on getting her OSHA 30 Certification, Screen Printing Certification, and Flexography Certification at CTC this year. Isabella will also participate in the Phoenix Challenge at CTC in April. Isabella’s future plans include getting a job in the field of print production upon graduation from high school. After she gains work experience, Isabella plans on opening her own print production company.
