Rising senior Christopher Crapanzano (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge), a midfielder for The University of Scranton men's lacrosse team, will compete for Team Poland in the 2022 World Lacrosse Men's U21 Championship with action beginning on Friday morning at 8 a.m. eastern as Poland takes on China.
Hosted by Ireland Lacrosse at the University of Limerick, action in pool play got underway on Wednesday and will continue through August 20 with the Gold Medal Game. A total of 23 teams are split into five pools with three groups of five and two groups of four.
Poland will compete in Group D with China, Chinese Taipei, Kenya and Wales. The schedule for group play is as follows:
- Friday, Aug. 12: Poland vs. China, 8 a.m. EST
- Saturday, Aug. 13: Poland vs. Kenya, 6 a.m. EST
- Sunday, Aug. 14: Poland vs. Wales, 1 p.m. EST
- Monday, Aug. 15: Poland vs. Chinese Taipei, 9 a.m. EST
Crapanzano has appeared in 25 games over the last two seasons for the Royals and has tallied 70 points on 52 goals and 18 assists to go along with 103 ground balls. The Basking Ridge, N.J., native garnered USILA Honorable Mention All-American accolades this past spring and is a two-time All-Landmark Conference honoree.
