Junior Elle Collins (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) and senior Maeve Kenny (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen) have been named 2022 team captains for The University of Scranton field hockey team as announced by head coach Colleen Moyer and her staff.
This marks the first captainship selection for both student-athletes.
Collins started all 20 games in the Royals midfield a season ago and tallied 10 points on four goals and two assists. The Long Valley, N.J., native earned All-Landmark Conference Second Team honors and scored game-winning goals in the Landmark title game victory over Catholic as well as the NCAA Tournament first round win over Ursinus.
Kenny has appeared in 35 games and made five starts at forward during her career at Scranton. She has helped lead the program to consecutive Landmark Conference championships and a single-season program record 18 victories in 2021.
The Royals will host Muhlenberg to open the 2022 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 1 at Weiss Field at 7 p.m. Click here to view the full 2022 field hockey schedule.
