University of Scranton Athletics issued the following announcement on June 21.
Graduate Student Michael Grant (Malverne, N.Y. / Kellenberg Memorial) and senior Cole Lukasiewicz (Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) garnered United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American honors and The University of Scranton men's lacrosse program earned All-Academic accolades as announced by the organization on Monday afternoon.
In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be a senior in academic standing, hold at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and receive honors at the conference or national level for their success on the field.
Grant appeared in 17 games as a defender and recorded 15 ground balls along with 11 caused turnovers. The occupational therapy major is a two-time Landmark Conference Honor Roll selection.
Lukasiewicz started in all 18 games this season for the Royals and recorded 24 points on 20 goals and four assists while adding 41 ground balls. The senior earned his second career All-Conference honor this season as he was named a First Team selection. The biology major is also a two-time Landmark Honor Roll member.
As a program, Scranton was one of 64 teams at the Division III level to receive the USILA Academic Team Award. In order to be eligible for the recognition, each program had to record at least a 3.0 team GPA.
