North Pocono High School issued the following announcement on Apr. 20.

North Pocono Middle School PSSA Information

Attention Parents and Guardians of NPMS Students:

As a reminder, the PSSA tests in ELA (Grades 6th-8th) April 25,26 & 27, Math (Grades 6th-8th) May 2 & 3 and Science (8th grade) May 4. Students will be served breakfast before testing and testing will begin promptly at 8:00 AM and run approximately to 10:45 AM. Additional time is provided for any student who needs it.

Due to testing, we will not hold live classes on the testing days [April 25,26,27 May 2,3 and May 4(8th grade only]. Each academic teacher will provide review lessons and they will be posted in Google Classroom. Students may be assigned additional practice in ALEKS, NoRedInk and NewsELA. These assignments are for students that have opted out of testing and virtual students not participating in testing. Students who test will have classwork in the afternoon, but we make every effort not to burden students as we want them well rested and ready to put forth their best effort in testing.

Students who are virtual and coming in for testing should arrive by 7:30 AM. Virtual students are allowed to ride the bus to school; however, if they are only attending for testing purposes, a parent or guardian must pick them up at the end of the testing session. If your virtual student needs transportation and plans to stay for the full day to receive bus transportation home, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.

Sincerely

Matthew Montoro

Principal, NPMS
