Men’s Swimming & Diving Ends Regular Season with Defeat at Drew

St. Rose of Lima Parish issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.

The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team finished off their 2021-22 regular season on Friday evening at Drew and fell in a dual meet, 188-72.

With the defeat, the Royals finished the regular season with a 3-7 record. Here are some highlights from the evening.

  • In the 100-breaststroke, sophomore Scott Majka (Marysville, Pa./Trinity) finished off a strong regular season with a victory, hitting the wall in 1:02.81. Majka also registered a second place finish in the 100-freestyle (48.93), as well.
  • Senior Evan Morgan (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough), meanwhile, was second in the 500-freestyle (5:01.68). Freshman James Cava (Chatham, N.J./Morris County School of Technology) also had a runner-up finish in the 200-breaststroke 2:29.17.
  • Meanwhile, in the three-meter dive, sophomore Alexander Drake (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) was victorious with a final mark of 140.55.
The University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team will now be idle until the 2022 Landmark Conference Championships, which make their return to Germantown, Md. starting Feb. 18.
