Student Recognition January 2022

North Pocono High School issued the following announcement on Jan. 20.

Benjamin Cikota is the son of Tara and David Cikota. Benjamin will have taken ten AP classes by graduation. He is currently enrolled in AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP Psychology, and AP Literature and Composition. Benjamin is ranked 10th in his class and has received high honors every quarter of his high school career. Besides academics, Benjamin is involved in numerous extracurricular activities. He serves as the treasurer of both Science Olympiad and his class in Student Council where he has been a member since his ninth-grade year. In addition to these leadership positions, Benjamin is Co-president and Founder of the Model United Nations club at North Pocono. Also, he has been a member of the Red Cross Club serving as Co-Vice President his sophomore and junior years. Furthermore, Benjamin has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years. Additionally, he has been a member of North Pocono’s Track Team since seventh grade. On top of all that, Benjamin works at The High Bridge House. Benjamin plans to attend college to study Nursing in hopes of eventually becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Billy Pabst is the son of Bill and Jamie Pabst. Billy has only taken accelerated and AP courses in high school. Even with taking difficult classes, such as AP US History, AP Calculus BC, and so on, he has made high honors each quarter of High School. Billy is a captain of both the golf and basketball teams. He is also a member of the National Honor Society. Billy has been employed by Elmhurst Country Club as a bag boy for the last 3 years and counting. After graduation, Billy will attend Penn State University Park where he will play collegiate golf for the Nittany Lions. He plans to major in statistics as he has always found math to be his favorite subject. If the dream of playing professional golf does not work out, Billy hopes to use his statistics degree to become a statistician in the sports world.

William Pickarski is the son of Aaron and Julia Pickarski. Will is preparing for college by taking five AP classes his senior year. These classes include Calculus BC, Microeconomics, Psychology, Computer Science A, and English Literature and Composition. He has achieved high honors throughout high school and is currently ranked ninth in his class. Will has taken accelerated or AP classes throughout his entire career and will have 13 AP classes under his belt by the time he graduates. Will has passed every one of his AP tests so far with a 4 or 5. He is the Vice President of Mathletes, President of the Computer Club, and a member of FBLA. Will was a varsity member of the North Pocono Soccer Team that won the District 2 championship. He also competes in varsity lacrosse. Will has received a Certificate of Merit for his high SAT scores and the label of AP Scholar with Distinction for his high AP scores. Will plans to pursue engineering at Penn State University-University Park.
