University of Scranton Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 18.
Senior Allie Benadon (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) of The University of Scranton field hockey team tallied two goals in a pair of wins last week for the Royals and has been named Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
This marks the second time in her career that she has garnered Landmark Athlete of the Week honors after she previously won the award on Sept. 30, 2019.
Benadon scored a goal in Saturday's 2-1 win at Catholic, which gave the Royals sole possession of first place in the Landmark Conference, after notching a goal and an assist in a 7-0 victory over Drew on Wednesday.
The Royals are off to a 13-0 start for the second time in the last four seasons and was receiving the most votes among teams in the others receiving votes category in the most recent Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll.
On the season, Benadon leads the team and ranks tied for second in the Landmark with 13 goals and ranks second in points (30).
The University of Scranton field hockey team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at Moravian with action getting underway at 1 p.m.
