University of Scranton Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 20.
The University of Scranton field hockey team is in the top six of the NCAA Regional Rankings that were unveiled on Wednesday afternoon for the first time this season.
The Royals are in Region V, which encompasses the Landmark Conference, MAC Commonwealth and Centennial Conference.
Joining Scranton (13-0) in the top six is Haverford (11-2), Johns Hopkins (14-0), Messiah (11-2), Susquehanna (11-3) and Ursinus (9-4).

Scranton was also receiving the most votes (120) among teams in the others receiving votes category in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll that was released on Tuesday.
The Royals are off to a 13-0 start for the second time in four seasons and are coming off a 2-1 victory at Catholic on Saturday that gave them sole possession of first place in the Landmark Conference standings.
Defensively, the Royals have proven to be almost impeccable this season as they have allowed just two goals on the year and lead all of Division III in shutouts (11) and save percentage (.949).
The University of Scranton field hockey team returns to action on Saturday with a Landmark Conference matchup at Moravian. Action will get underway at 1 p.m.
