Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr. has recently used his social media platform to highlight both local achievements and legislative efforts. In a series of posts, Bresnahan addressed topics ranging from community recognition to federal policy initiatives.
On November 2, 2025, Bresnahan congratulated a local school band, stating, “Congratulations to the Pittston Area High School Marching Band! This month, they’ll represent Pennsylvania at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis, the only band from our state! Your community is proud of you. Good luck at Nationals!”
The following day, on November 3, 2025, he turned his attention to national issues with two separate posts. First, he announced his involvement in bipartisan legislation: “I’m proud to co-lead bipartisan legislation to keep Social Security services running during a government shutdown. Our seniors and constituents should never be left waiting.” Later that evening, he advocated for additional legislative action by writing, “Now it’s our turn to pass my Keep WIC Working Act to make sure families aren’t going hungry because of Washington gridlock.”
Social Security is a federal program providing retirement and disability benefits to millions of Americans. During previous government shutdowns, some Social Security services have faced disruptions or delays. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) offers nutritional support for low-income families; funding interruptions during budget impasses have previously put these benefits at risk.
Bresnahan’s recent statements reflect ongoing debates in Congress about protecting essential services during periods of government funding uncertainty.
