Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr. marked a series of local celebrations across Northeastern Pennsylvania in mid-March, sharing his experiences and greetings through social media posts.
On March 14, Bresnahan acknowledged the annual mathematical celebration with a message to his constituents: “Happy Pi Day! Celebrate 3.14 and a slice of your favorite pie. Whether it’s math or dessert you love, enjoy a sweet treat with friends and family across Northeastern Pennsylvania!”
Later that day, he attended Parade Day in Scranton, expressing gratitude to local union members: “Great day for Parade Day in Scranton! Thanks to the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 for the invite to ride on your float. Proud to celebrate NEPA’s Irish heritage and community spirit. “ The event is part of an annual tradition in Scranton that draws large crowds each year.
On March 15, Bresnahan continued his participation in St. Patrick’s Day events, posting: “Great celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with friends and community at both the Wilkes-Barre and Lackawanna Sons of St. Patrick dinners. Always a great night celebrating Irish pride and the strong communities that make NEPA home. “
St. Patrick’s Day festivities are longstanding traditions in many Northeastern Pennsylvania communities, reflecting the region’s significant Irish-American population and its emphasis on communal gatherings.
