Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr. has recently addressed several issues on his social media account, ranging from federal nutrition program funding to local weather warnings and the passing of a prominent public servant.
On November 3, 2025, Bresnahan commented on efforts to maintain funding for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) during a government shutdown. He stated, “As someone who has been fighting to keep WIC funded throughout the shutdown, I am glad to see the administration step up to the plate. Food for moms and babies should never be used for political games.” The WIC program provides nutritional support to low-income pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and young children across the United States.
Later that evening, Bresnahan expressed condolences following the death of Richard Roman, District Executive for PennDOT District 4-0. On November 4, he wrote: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Richard Roman, District Executive for PennDOT District 4-0. Richard was a dedicated public servant whose leadership and commitment to improving Pennsylvania’s transportation infrastructure will not be forgotten. His decades of service”. Roman’s work at PennDOT focused on enhancing transportation systems in northeastern Pennsylvania.
In another post dated November 6, Bresnahan alerted residents about severe weather conditions affecting multiple counties in his district. He posted: “Our region, including Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne, Monroe, and Pike Counties, is under a high wind warning this evening. Gusts could exceed 65 miles per hour between 8:40 PM and 9:45 PM EST. These conditions are expected to cause downed trees, power outages, and hazardous travel,”.
Bresnahan represents parts of northeastern Pennsylvania in Congress and frequently communicates with constituents about both national policy matters such as WIC funding—an issue that often arises during federal budget negotiations—and local concerns like weather emergencies or community losses.
