Michael Anthony Boomer, 60, of Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for cocaine trafficking and firearm possession. U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani handed down the sentence.
United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam stated that Boomer pleaded guilty to the charges on February 28, 2024. The FBI and the Stroud Area Regional Police Department conducted a joint investigation into drug trafficking in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Boomer sold cocaine to a confidential informant multiple times, leading investigators to obtain a federal search warrant for his residence. During the search, authorities found additional cocaine, drug paraphernalia, cash, and multiple firearms in the possession of Boomer and his son Justin Lamont Hardy.
In addition to his prison term, Boomer will pay a $200 special assessment and serve three years of supervised release after his incarceration. Judge Mariani also sentenced Hardy to 60 months in prison earlier this year for possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Todd K. Hinkley and is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN). PSN aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence through coordinated efforts among law enforcement agencies and community organizations. Launched on May 26, 2021, the Department’s violent crime reduction strategy under PSN focuses on fostering community trust, supporting violence prevention initiatives, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring outcomes.
