Lackawanna County issued the following announcement on May 6.

For residents who are looking to get a job or to make a career change, Lackawanna County has the perfect opportunity with its in-house employment fair.

The event is set for Wednesday and Thursday, May 11 & 12, in the first-floor lobby of the Lackawanna County Government Center, 123 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton.

The hours are: May 11 from 11 am – 4 pm; and May 12 from noon – 6 pm.

Full and part-time job openings are available across the system from the prison and 911, to the Sheriff’s Department, District Attorney’s Office, and other Row Offices, as well.

“This is an excellent avenue for people to look into, especially if they have an interest the government sector.  It would be advantageous to stop and check-out the positions along with the excellent benefits package that we offer in a friendly work environment,” explained the Commissioners.

Individually of all ages, experience levels and backgrounds are encouraged to attend.  Everyone is urged to come prepared to interview, bring resumes, and dress professionally.
