North Pocono High School issued the following announcement on May 6.

The 2022 International Bridge Building Contest will be held at North Pocono High School on Saturday May 7, 2022.

Students from across the United States will be competing in this contest.

This hybrid event for 2022 will have students competing in-person and as well as others mailing in their bridges. To participate in this contest students had to compete and win at both a local tournament and then a regional tournament before receiving an invitation to this event. The International Bridge Building contest is run in connection with the Illinois Institute of Technology which hosts the event every other year. In the off years schools from across the country sponsor the event. This is the second time in 34 years that the Northeastern Pennsylvania Regional Bridge Building Competition has hosted this event. This is North Pocono’s 1st time as the host.
