The Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County raised tuition by 2.5% for the 2022-23 school year, as revealed in the latest report, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Students paid $16,150 to attend the public institution this year, an increase of $400 from the $15,750 tuition charged in the 2021-22 academic year.

Approximately 80% of the school’s undergraduate students are residents of Pennsylvania.

Data indicates that all full-time undergraduates who enrolled at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. Specifically, nine students were awarded grants or scholarships totaling $70,588, while eight students obtained student loans amounting to more than $53,294.

Across the entire undergraduate population, 67 students received grants or scholarships totaling $525,051. Additionally, 74 students borrowed $480,561 in federal student loans.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
