Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr. recently used his social media platform to highlight several community initiatives and express gratitude toward key groups in Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA). In a series of posts, Bresnahan called attention to the Congressional Art Competition, recognized Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and acknowledged local farmers on National Agriculture Day.
On March 23, 2026, Bresnahan encouraged young artists to participate in an annual event: “Unleash your creativity! The annual Congressional Art Competition is here, giving talented young artists across NEPA the chance to showcase their work and compete for the honor of having their piece displayed in the nation’s Capitol. Submit your masterpiece by March 31st!”
The following day, he highlighted an act of appreciation for airport security staff: “As I was returning to Washington, our team delivered pizza to the hardworking TSA officers at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. We’re grateful for everything you do to keep travelers safe, your dedication and service do not go unnoticed!” This gesture comes as part of ongoing efforts by public officials nationwide to support frontline workers who maintain safety standards at transportation hubs.
Later that same day, Bresnahan marked National Agriculture Day with a message directed at regional producers: “On National Agriculture Day, we honor the hardworking farmers and producers of Northeastern Pennsylvania and across the nation. Their dedication feeds our communities, drives our economy, and sustains our way of life. Thank you for your vital work.” The acknowledgment aligns with national observances intended to recognize agriculture’s role in food production and economic stability.
National Agriculture Day is celebrated annually across the United States as a means of raising awareness about agriculture’s essential contributions. The Congressional Art Competition is held each spring for high school students throughout congressional districts nationwide; winning artwork from each district is displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
