Commonwealth Health has reported the successful outcome of its Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive, which amassed 2,455 jars of peanut butter and nut butter. The collected items are intended to assist local food banks, including St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Bread Basket of NEPA, and CEO Weinberg Food Bank, in their efforts to provide for families experiencing food insecurity.

Expressing gratitude, Commonwealth Health extended a “heartfelt thank you” to Dr. Matthew Cindric, Allison Zamerowski, CRNP, the Commonwealth Health Physician Network clinics, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, and Regional Hospital of Scranton. Additionally, all Commonwealth Health staff members were acknowledged for their significant contributions.

The success of the drive was further bolstered by local partners such as Gerrity’s, The Wright Center, Jersey College’s School of Nursing, Metz Culinary Management, and Morrison Health Care Food Service. Their involvement was described as crucial in making the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive a success.

Peanut butter and nut butter are recognized for being vital staples due to their nutritional content and shelf stability. As such, they are deemed excellent donations for food banks. The Jars of Love initiative aligns with Commonwealth Health’s ongoing commitment to local community welfare and hunger reduction efforts.
