Ciera Toomey helps North Carolina advance with NCAA win over Western Illinois

On Friday, March 20, Ciera Toomey, a former standout at Dunmore Junior Senior High School, helped lead her collegiate squad, the North Carolina Tar Heels, to an 82-51 victory over the Western Illinois Leathernecks in the NCAA Tournament.

The matchup was held at the Dean E. Smith Center at 4:30 p.m.

In 20 minutes, Toomey tallied five points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

North Carolina’s next game is set for Sunday, March 22, at 12 p.m., again at the Dean E. Smith Center.
