There was a single gas station in cities across Lackawanna County selling regular gas at the lowest price of $3.61 per gallon in the week ending May 18, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of regular gas in cities within Lackawanna County was $3.79 per gallon.

Of the 20 gas stations in cities within Lackawanna County, 13 offer regular gas.

The average price of regular gas in Pennsylvania was $3.72, compared to $3.75 the week before.

Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
