U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. announced on Mar. 6 the launch of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition, inviting high school students from Pennsylvania’s Eighth District to submit their artwork for a chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol.
The competition provides an opportunity for young artists in Northeastern Pennsylvania to showcase their creativity and gain national recognition. The winning piece will be exhibited alongside other student artwork from across the country, and the winner will be invited to Washington, D.C., for a special ceremony honoring student artists.
“The Congressional Art Competition is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity and talent of students right here in Northeastern Pennsylvania,” Bresnahan said. “I encourage every young artist in our district to participate and share their unique perspective.”
Last year, more than 70 students from 11 high schools participated in the competition. Rhianna Kupetz of Old Forge High School won first place with her piece titled ‘Potato Heart.’
The contest is open to all high school students residing in Pennsylvania’s Eighth Congressional District. Eligible submissions include paintings, drawings, photographs, mixed media, and other approved visual art forms. All entries must be received by March 31, 2026.
“Our students are incredibly talented, and I look forward to seeing the outstanding artwork they create,” Bresnahan said. “This competition is a chance for young artists to represent Northeastern Pennsylvania in the halls of the Capitol.”
For more information about guidelines and how to submit artwork, participants are encouraged to contact Rep. Bresnahan’s district office or visit his official website.
