The average cost of diesel in cities within Lackawanna County was $4.66 per gallon.
Of the 21 gas stations in cities within Lackawanna County, nine offer diesel.
The average price of diesel in Pennsylvania was $4.43, compared to $4.46 the week before.
Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
